Our daily lives can be a basis for a video in the sense that we wake up, take a shower, eat breakfast, drink some coffee, go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch TV and then go to bed. That’s a simple storyline right there. You don’t need to have an over-the-top idea to make a video that takes several days to produce. All you need is a straightforward concept that people can relate to and you’re ready to start shooting.
Sometimes, the videos that I watch online aren’t the highest budget or use the newest, most expensive equipment that money can buy. They are the ones that are done creatively. In my mind, creativity is way more important than having the best equipment possible – especially at the pace that video and photo equipment is being improved these days. It seems like every month or two, your camera is already replaced by a newer one. So where’s the point in constantly upgrading equipment? Sure, it’s nice to get a new camera once in awhile, but without creativity, your videos won’t be able to stand out against the rest. This is especially true on websites like YouTube or Vimeo where people can upload and view videos at will.
Moral of the story is that you don’t need to have the best or most expensive equipment to make an amazing video. All you need is the creativity and passion to create the best video you can.
